Turkish Airlines reports USD 2.4 billion profit in 2024, announces USD 260 million dividend – ET TravelWorld

Turkish Airlines reported a Profit from Main Operations of USD 2.4 billion in 2024, demonstrating strong resilience in a challenging global environment. Despite geopolitical tensions, supply chain issues, and engine setbacks, the airline outperformed industry averages in capacity, passenger numbers, and profitability. Over the last three years, Turkish Airlines successfully reduced its net debt by USD 8.3 billion

The airline’s total revenue in 2024 increased by 8.2 per cent, reaching USD 22.7 billion . Passenger revenue grew by 4 per cent, despite intensified competition, while cargo revenue surged by 35 per cent. The success of Turkish Cargo, which became the world’s third-largest air cargo carrier, was driven by a 20 per cent increase in annual cargo volume. Approximately USD 18 billion of the company’s revenue was recorded as export earnings, highlighting its significant economic contribution.

Turkish Airlines’ operational cash generation capability was demonstrated through its EBITDAR of USD 5.7 billion and a margin of 25.3 per cent. These results align with the airline’s long-term financial targets, emphasising its robust performance and commitment to investor returns.

Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of Turkish Airlines, stated, “Our 2024 results reflect the strength of our financial performance and strategic growth. Despite global challenges, we continue to expand our network and provide long-term value for investors and passengers. As we approach our 100th anniversary, we remain dedicated to strengthening Türkiye’s role in global aviation.”

In 2024, Turkish Airlines set a Guinness World Record for “Most Countries Flown to by an Airline” and added new routes to Melbourne, Sydney, and Santiago. The airline’s fleet grew by 12 per cent, and it secured innovative financing options, including sustainability-linked loans. Turkish Airlines’ commitment to sustainable growth remains integral to its 2033 strategy.
