Thomas Cook & SOTC report 35% growth in demand from India’s women travellers – ET TravelWorld

Thomas Cook India and SOTC Travel’s Women’s Travel Trend Report 2025 shows a notable 35 per cent growth in demand from women travellers in India, encompassing a broad spectrum of travel segments. The report sheds light on women’s evolving travel preferences and the growing influence of women across all travel categories—from Gen Z and Millennials to solo travellers and girl gang groups.

Women travellers in India are embracing a diverse range of travel experiences, seeking a balance of adventure, cultural exploration, wellness, and personal growth. Adventure travel is seeing the most significant surge, with a 37 per cent rise in interest. Popular activities include paragliding in Bir Billing, trekking in Ladakh, white-water rafting in Rishikesh, and scenic self-drive tours in New Zealand.

The spa and wellness segment has also witnessed a 28 per cent increase, as women prioritise self-care through wellness retreats, detox programs, and spa vacations in destinations like South Korea, Japan, and Thailand. Event-based travel, including milestone celebrations like ‘friendversaries,’ is becoming more common, with 35 per cent of women opting for group travel to celebrate personal milestones or attend global festivals and concerts.

Culinary and cultural experiences remain a strong focus, with 17 per cent of women engaging in cooking classes, vineyard tours, and gourmet dining experiences. There is also significant demand for luxury and premium travel experiences, with 25 per cent of women opting for high-end shopping, fine dining, and exclusive stays in destinations like Dubai and Singapore.

In addition, cruise holidays are becoming increasingly popular, with 23 per cent of women choosing cruises for vacations, particularly in domestic routes and destinations such as the Mediterranean and Scandinavian Fjords.
