Thomas Cook hosts exclusive MICE engagement for top corporates in Mumbai – ET TravelWorld

Thomas Cook India, a leading omnichannel travel services company, has successfully hosted a high-impact corporate outreach engagement in Mumbai, in partnership with Tourism Malaysia. This exclusive event focused on promoting Malaysia as an ideal destination for the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) segment, showcasing its wide range of offerings, including ease of access, rich culture, gastronomy, and vibrant nightlife.

The event was inaugurated by Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, and attended by over 30 senior executives and CXOs from prominent Indian and multinational corporations across sectors such as BFSI, pharma, electronics, and trade. These participants were carefully selected by Thomas Cook to ensure a highly relevant audience for the event, which aimed to highlight Malaysia’s advantages as a leading MICE destination for 2025-26.

The event format included insightful presentations, interactive discussions, and productive one-on-one sessions that allowed participants to explore Malaysia’s MICE offerings in depth. Key figures from Tourism Malaysia, including Nuwal Fadhillah Ku Azmi, Azura Zainol Abidin, and Noriah Jaafar, contributed to making the event a comprehensive showcase of Malaysia’s potential.

An immersive culinary experience was a highlight of the evening, featuring a fusion of Malaysian and Indian cuisines. The decor, inspired by Malaysia’s rich culture and scenic beauty, further immersed the attendees in the destination’s appeal. The event concluded with engaging prizes and giveaways, leaving participants enthusiastic about choosing Malaysia for future MICE programs.

Datuk Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, commented, “Malaysia offers a unique blend of modernity and tradition, with direct flight connectivity, visa-free travel, and excellent infrastructure. He noted that the partnership with Malaysia Airlines and participation in events like MATTA Fair 2024 further strengthened their offering for Indian travellers.

Meera Charnalia, Executive Vice President & Head of MICE at Thomas Cook India, expressed optimism that the event would enhance Malaysia’s appeal in the competitive MICE market, ensuring its place as a top destination for corporate events.
