The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has embarked on a landmark journey as it celebrates its 75th anniversary with the launch of the “75 Years of TAAI” campaign. The grand inauguration took place on January 25, 2025, at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi, in the presence of Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant along with association members, key industry leaders and stakeholders, who unveiled the official logo commemorating this momentous occasion.

Since its establishment in 1951, TAAI has been a trailblazer in India’s travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors, bridging the gap between the government and industry stakeholders. The association’s steadfast contributions over the decades have shaped policies, driven industry growth, and positioned India as a global tourism hotspot.

TAAI said it has outlined an ambitious year-long campaign to celebrate its double diamond jubilee. The official logo launch marks the beginning of a series of initiatives designed to highlight TAAI’s illustrious past while fostering innovation and collaboration for the future of Indian travel and tourism. The theme for this milestone celebration is “Connect, Collaborate, and Celebrate.”

Sunil Kumar, President of TAAI, expressed his vision at the launch event, stating, “Celebrating our 75th year marks a momentous milestone in our legacy—a true double diamond jubilee. This is not just a reflection of our remarkable journey but a purposeful step toward the future. The leadership and committee are dedicated to a meaningful ‘Runway to 2026,’ ensuring these celebrations resonate deeply with our members and the broader travel industry. 2025 is our year of preparation—a runway to propel us into 2026 with impactful initiatives. We aim to foster collaborations and implement actions that honor TAAI’s heritage while shaping a future rooted in innovation, responsibility, and progress.”

The Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH) elected its office bearers for 2024-2026. Puneet Chhatwal was re-elected as Chairman, alongside other key members. The elected officials pledged to collaborate towards achieving the industry’s growth targets and contributing to the Indian economy, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision.

One of TAAI’s key objectives this year is establishing a dedicated marketplace in India, creating a robust business network for its members.

The celebrations aim to reinforce TAAI’s pivotal role as the nodal body for the travel industry, while also showcasing India’s immense tourism potential on the global stage. By focusing on strengthening industry partnerships and enhancing community ties, TAAI is committed to ensuring that this initiative evolves into a transformative event for the sector.
