Paul Danan Cause Of Death Revealed

Former Hollyoaks star Paul Danan‘s death was down to a toxic combination of heroin, methadone and other drugs, an inquest has heard.

The 46-year-old died last month and an inquest today was opened and then adjourned for a full hearing to May 28, according to the BBC, which reported its provisional results.

Danan’s provisional cause of death was combined toxicity of heroin, methadone, coedine, pregabalin, cocaine, zopiclone, contributed to by benzodiazepine use, the BBC said.

Danan played the loveable Sol Patrick in Hollyoaks and also appeared on Celebrity Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother. His death sent shockwaves through the UK entertainment industry.

Since his death, court documents have revealed that Danan had been due to appear for a plea hearing at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on January 16 after being charged with being in possession of cocaine and cannabis.

The BBC said that Danan had spent more than £1m ($1.3B) on rehab over the years. The next inquest will report back in more depth in a few weeks’ time.

Upon his death, Danan’s agent Independent Creative Management called him a “beacon of light to so many.” “His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him,” the agency added.
