The Madhya Pradesh govt is pinning high hopes on the burgeoning tourist footfall in the state amidst a surge in religious and heritage tourism to draw investment. It is offering over 25 key land parcels and heritage sites to investors in the Global Investors Summit (GIS), apart from undeveloped land parcels.
Targeting investment in eco-tourism, aquatic activities, adventure pursuits, and the establishment of luxurious resorts at prominent tourist destinations, the tourism department intends to present prime land parcels at Gandhi Sagar, Dhar, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Raisen, Shajapur, Alirajpur, Vidisha, and Jabalpur to investors.
“Madhya Pradesh has abundant offerings for tourists, rendering it an appealing investment prospect for the hospitality sector. We are presenting over 25 prime land parcels to investors at various locations in the state. Numerous heritage properties shall be showcased and offered to investors in the summit,” said an official overseeing the tourism summit in the tourism department.
The department will discuss investment prospects, policies, and governmental subsidies in the tourism summit scheduled for day 2 of the summit from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The tourism department has enlisted a panel of 8 industrialists and stakeholders from the tourism industry in the summit to deliberate on crucial policies and projects.
The tourism summit will emphasise on leisure, heritage, religious, wildlife, eco-tourism, adventure, and film tourism. Unlike previous years, this year all departments have been instructed to invite guests and investors from their respective sectors in the GIS. Each departmental summit has been assigned to invite sector specialists from the Central Government, international policymakers, industry leaders, and investors to facilitate meaningful discussions.
The Madhya Pradesh govt is also amplifying tourism activities along the Narmada River’s bank to draw visitors. The Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has identified 16 villages across 15 districts along the Narmada Paryatan route to develop infrastructure and homestays for tourists on the Narmada River’s banks. The Narmada Paryatan route extends from Amarkantak to Alirajpur.
More than 45 homestays are envisaged in the initial phase across the identified villages under tribal and rural homestay development projects.
