Jimmy Tatro has joined the cast of an untitled comedy from Amazon MGM Studios, alongside Will Ferrell, Zac Efron, and Regina Hall. Nicholas Stoller is directing the film from his own script. The comedy follows a young convict fresh out of prison (Efron) who takes a reality TV courtroom hostage blaming the megalomaniac TV judge (Ferrell) for a past ruling that the convict feels ruined his life.
Producers include Stoller Global Solutions’ Nicholas Stoller and Gloria Sanchez Productions’ Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum, and Alex Brown. This marks a re-teaming of Ferrell, Stoller, and Tatro, as Ferrell and Tatro both starred alongside Reese Witherspoon in Stoller’s You’re Cordially Invited, which premiered on Prime Video January 30.
Tatro recently wrapped Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice for 20th Century and Scream 7 for Paramount, and recently starred, wrote, directed, and produced the The Real Bros of Simi Valley movie for Roku. The film serves as a continuation of the beloved series Tatro created and starred in. Additional credits include Theater Camp, Home Economics, The Machine, California King, and The King of Staten Island. Tatro first gained notoriety as the lead in Season 1 of Netflix’s American Vandal, for which he was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor.
Tatro is represented by UTA, Brillstein, and Felker Toczek.
