Dubai South developers anticipate a surge in job creation over the next two to three years as the new airport terminal at Dubai World Central, Al Maktoum International (DWC) progresses.

The Dh128-billion passenger terminal at DWC will fully absorb operations from Dubai International Airport over the next decade, driving significant employment opportunities in aviation, logistics, and related sectors. Nabil Al Kindi, CEO of Dubai South Properties, stated that the expansion is expected to generate thousands of jobs, attracting a skilled workforce and fostering economic growth.

Spanning 145 sq km, Dubai South is the emirate’s largest master development, designed as a hub for aviation, logistics, and industry. The project is set to create up to 500,000 jobs, with a multi-modal transport network enhancing connectivity across air, land, and sea. The development aims to support businesses by providing commercial and industrial spaces that cater to various industries.

Al Kindi emphasised that the airport’s completion will accelerate employment growth, leading to increased demand for office spaces, retail outlets, and essential infrastructure such as healthcare and education facilities. The development has already seen strong investor interest, with projects such as The Pulse Apartments, The Pulse Villas, The Pulse Beachfront, South Bay, South Living, and Sakany contributing to the region’s economic dynamism.

Phase 1 of The Pulse Beachfront, comprising 288 units, has been completed, with 500 more units expected by mid-2025. South Living is sold out, and construction is underway. Additionally, an agreement with BT Properties will bring a gated master community to Dubai South’s Golf District, further stimulating job creation and investment in the region.
