Paris Olympics 2024: Top Moments From The Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony of the 33rd edition of the Summer Olympics Games took place in the Stade de France on Aug 11.

The event began with French swimmer Leon Marchand carrying the Olympic flame in a lantern from Tuileries Garden to Stade de France.

That was followed by an athletes’ parade at Stade de France, with all the flag- bearers and athletes walking together.

Indian men’s hockey team goalkeeper PR Sreejesh and double medallist shooter Manu Bhaker were the flagbearers for the contingent during the closing ceremony.

Women’s marathon gold medalist Sifan Hassan (centre) of the Netherlands, stands with silver medalist Tigst Assefa of Ethiopia, and bronze medalist Hellen Obiri during the closing ceremony.

The closing ceremony saw brilliant performances, including one with acrobats on Olympic rings-like structures.

Tom Cruise abseiled from the Stade de France’s roof and left the stadium for LA with the Olympic flag on a bike. 

Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass received the Olympic flag as a symbol of the official handover from Paris to LA.

The final act of the evening was French singer Yseult performing a rendition of the Frank Sinatra classic My Way.
