Stone Wood Hotels & Resorts has announced the launch of six new properties in 2025, marking a major step in the company’s expansion. The new resorts will be located in Jawai, Tadoba, and Coorg, well-known for their natural beauty and unique appeal. This expansion is part of Stone Wood’s strategy to increase its presence within the premium segment of India’s hospitality market.
The company has reported an 8 per cent occupancy rate year-to-date for 2024 and anticipates a 10 per cent increase in revenue for 2025. The company expects growth in both Average Room Rate (ARR) and Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) as part of this expansion, which will contribute to the overall revenue growth in the coming year.
Currently, Stone Wood Hotels operates 16 properties across six states in India, with over 500 rooms in total. The six new properties scheduled for 2025 will add approximately 400 additional keys to the portfolio. The first of these new properties is expected to open by the end of the 2025-26 financial year.
The company continues to pursue an asset-light expansion strategy, relying on lease and revenue-share models for its new projects. These models provide the company with operational flexibility and minimise capital expenditure. The upcoming expansion will be supported by partnerships with investors across India, which will help fund the development of these new properties.
Stone Wood Hotels is also planning to expand its focus on the MICE and wedding segments, with some of the new properties featuring dedicated event spaces. These segments have already become an important driver of business for the company, particularly at its Aralea Beach Resort, where a significant portion of the revenue comes from MICE and wedding clientele.
Looking ahead, the company has set a target to operate 50 hotels and over 3,000 rooms by 2030, with plans to continue expanding in emerging destinations.
