In a pioneering move towards sustainable mobility, NueGo, India’s largest electric intercity bus service by GreenCell Mobility, has launched the country’s first electric AC sleeper bus service.
NueGo’s latest fleet will operate on key intercity routes, including Delhi–Amritsar, Bengaluru–Chennai, Hyderabad–Rajahmundry, Chennai–Madurai, Vijayawada–Visakhapatnam, and Bengaluru–Madurai. With this expansion, the company aims to capture a significant share of the growing sleeper bus market while setting new standards in eco-friendly intercity transport.

The new sleeper buses are engineered for comfort and convenience, featuring spacious ergonomic berths with backrests, ample overhead space, soft-touch interiors, ambient LED lighting, and modern sanitation facilities. Each berth is equipped with USB charging ports, night reading lamps, and berth pockets, ensuring a seamless travel experience.
Built with advanced technology, the buses boast an aerodynamically designed FRP front fascia, India’s first monocoque chassis for superior handling and stability, and a weight-optimized GI tubular structure for enhanced efficiency. Safety is paramount, with features such as ABS brakes with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), full air suspension with ECAS, and a rollover-engineered structure.The electric sleeper buses run on a 450 kWh HV battery, offering a maximum range of 350 km per charge, extendable to 600 km per day through fast charging. The zero-emission vehicles incorporate regenerative braking technology, delivering a quiet, vibration-free ride with minimal environmental impact.
NueGo continues to lead the way in passenger safety, particularly for women travellers. The company has implemented a range of security measures, including a dedicated 24×7 women’s helpline, a ‘Pink Seat’ feature for female passengers, GPS live tracking, CCTV surveillance, speed locks at 80 km/hr, driver breath analyzer tests, and well-maintained hygienic rest stops.
