NBCUniversal confirmed it will return to Radio City Music Hall for its 2025 Upfront Presentation on May 12 at 10:30 am ET.
“When I think about the Upfronts, I think about content. And I believe that content matters more today than any other point in our history,” said Mark Marshall, chairman, Global Advertising and Partnerships for NBCUniversal, in a letter to clients posted today on his LinkedIn page titled Do The Upfront Presentations Still Matter?
“It is the question that we have all heard for years … Is it worth thousands of people coming to NYC to showcase content?”
“I think maybe the more provocative question is, does content still matter to your brands?”
Not surprisingly, he believes the answer is yes.
“The average consumer today is spending over 13 hours with media per day, and the majority of that is across multiple screens at once. These consumers are not media agnostic. They are watching Broadcast, Cable and Streaming. They are watching in their living room, while on their phone…while shopping…or gaming…or scrolling.”
NBCU content to be presented includes the NBA and WNBA in a major new contract the company is extremely excited about, especially for streaming games on Peacock. February 2026 includes Super Bowl LX, NBA All Star Weekend, and the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in a seventeen-day period, followed by the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America in the summer.
Other sports included the Paralympic Games, Ryder Cup, WWE, PGA Tour, U.S. Open, Big Ten Championship and Premier League, along with a slate of scripted, unscripted, news, and other live event content is set against the backdrop of NBC’s 100 Year Anniversary in 2026.
This will likely be the last Upfront presentation before NBCU splits in two. Parent Comcast is in the process of splitting off cable networks and some digital assets into a separate public company, but keeping the NBC broadcast network, Bravo and Peacock inside the NBCUniversal fold.
