Malaysia Airlines has announced a string of strategic developments aimed at strengthening its international network and improving customer experience. Central to this expansion is the unveiling of its new Manchester United co-branded aircraft livery on the flagship Airbus A330-300, a design that blends the colours of the Malaysian flag with the English football club’s iconic red. The new livery was unveiled at a special event attended by Manchester United legends Dimitar Berbatov, Nemanja Vidić and Luís Nani.
The airline also confirmed it will resume direct flights to Brisbane from 29 November 2025, reinstating its link to Queensland. This move is set to support growing travel demand across the Australia–Asia corridor, complementing Malaysia Airlines’ existing services to Sydney and Melbourne. The carrier is also introducing its new A330neo aircraft on select routes to Australia and New Zealand, offering upgraded cabin comfort and improved fuel efficiency.
In addition to the Brisbane relaunch, Malaysia Airlines is increasing services to other regional destinations including Auckland, Surabaya, Phuket and Trivandrum. The airline also revealed a new business class product: lie-flat seats for its Boeing 737-10 narrowbody jets, aiming to offer greater comfort on regional routes.
Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Group Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group, said the developments mark a bold step forward, aligning the airline’s national identity with global ambitions. Alongside these moves, Malaysia Airlines also introduced EnrichMoney’s new payment features and updated its Economy fare tiers, signalling a broader focus on both customer choice and loyalty benefits.
