Hilton has announced a strategic licensing agreement with NILE Hospitality to open 75 Hampton by Hilton hotels across India, further strengthening its commitment to growth in the country. This expansion is a significant milestone for Hilton, as it continues to accelerate its presence in India, adding to its portfolio of more than 3,000 Hampton by Hilton hotels globally. The move follows a similar partnership in 2024 to introduce 150 Spark by Hilton hotels in India in collaboration with Olive by Embassy.
Alan Watts, President of Asia Pacific at Hilton, remarked, “This marks our mid-market moment in India, as the country’s strong economic growth, rising middle class, and rapid infrastructure development are driving demand for our brands and exceptional performance. This agreement marks a new chapter in Hilton’s expansion across Asia Pacific.”
The first Hampton by Hilton hotels are expected to debut in key markets across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Bihar. Positioned in the upper-midscale segment, Hampton by Hilton will complement Hilton’s existing midscale offerings, including Hilton Garden Inn and the upcoming Spark by Hilton brand, which is set to cater to the premium economy segment.
Kevin Jacobs, Chief Financial Officer and President of Global Development at Hilton, added, “Hampton by Hilton is a beloved brand globally. The efficiency in design and consistent service approach makes it a highly valuable choice for guests and owners alike. With India’s growing domestic travel market, it’s the perfect time for this brand to expand.”
Hampton by Hilton is renowned for offering a friendly, consistent experience and its signature hospitality, ‘Hamptonality.’ The brand’s popular features, including complimentary hot breakfasts and modern, fresh designs, have made it a favourite in over 40 countries. Hampton by Hilton is also known for its efficient development model, which has earned it the title of the number one lodging franchise for 16 consecutive years according to Entrepreneur® magazine.
Vikram Singh Chauhan, Founder and CEO of NILE Hospitality, expressed excitement about the partnership: “This agreement presents an extraordinary opportunity to redefine the midscale segment in India and cater to the expanding middle-income segment, tapping into the country’s burgeoning domestic travel demand. Together with Hilton, we aim to provide guests with high-quality service and an exceptional brand promise.”
Hampton by Hilton’s success in Asia Pacific, especially in China, has led to its rapid growth, with several new hotels opening in cities like Jinan, Tangshan, and Shenyang.
As part of Hilton’s portfolio, all Hampton by Hilton hotels will participate in Hilton Honors®, the award-winning loyalty programme. Members booking directly through Hilton’s channels will enjoy benefits such as flexible payment options, exclusive discounts, and free Wi-Fi.
Hilton’s continued expansion in India reflects the company’s rapid growth, driven in part by its award-winning workplace culture. Recently, Hilton was recognised as the #1 Company to Work For in India by Great Place to Work for two consecutive years, further cementing its commitment to success in the Indian market.
