The new initiative aims to enhance pilgrim experiences, offer guidance and accommodation, and generate local employment.
EaseMyTrip, a leading travel platform, through its spiritual tourism vertical EasyDarshan, has inaugurated the Theerth Yatri Sewa Booth in partnership with the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk. This initiative aims to enhance the pilgrimage experience for visitors to Ayodhya by offering a variety of services, including guidance, bookings, and accessibility support.
The booth is designed to provide essential services for pilgrims, including information about the Ram Lalla temple and other religious sites, Sugam Darshan bookings, special aarti arrangements, and wheelchair accessibility. A key feature of this project is the employment of local youth as “Theerth Sevaks,” who are trained to offer valuable insights into the city’s cultural, historical, and spiritual significance. This initiative creates job opportunities for residents and enriches the pilgrim experience.
EasyDarshan is also collaborating with ADA to support the development of homestays, addressing Ayodhya’s accommodation needs as pilgrimage numbers increase. By encouraging local participation, the company aims to provide affordable lodging options while promoting community growth.
Ashwini Kumar Pandey, IAS, Vice Chairman of ADA, commented, “We are excited to partner with EasyDarshan in making Ayodhya a globally recognised spiritual destination. This booth is an important step in that direction.”
Rikant Pittie, CEO and co-founder of EaseMyTrip, added, “The Theerth Yatri Sewa Booth is designed to enhance the spiritual journey of pilgrims. By combining seamless service with community involvement, we aim to make Ayodhya more welcoming to visitors while boosting local employment.”
The initiative is part of EasyDarshan’s ongoing efforts to transform the pilgrimage experience in Ayodhya, further contributing to the city’s spiritual and cultural significance.
