Booking.com has revealed its annual Travel Predictions for 2025, providing a glimpse into the evolving preferences of Indian and global travellers. As people shift towards more meaningful travel experiences, Indian tourists are expected to explore less crowded destinations, pursue luxurious longevity retreats, and favour activities in the cooler hours of the day. The findings show that 83per cent of Indian travellers plan to use technology to discover quieter spots, while 79per cent will embrace nocturnal activities to avoid rising temperatures.
The research also sheds light on destinations that are set to captivate the attention of Indian travellers in 2025. Emerging as top spots are Gudauri and Tbilisi in Georgia, the picturesque town of Gabala in Azerbaijan, and Tromsø in Norway, each offering a unique blend of adventure and cultural richness. These destinations appeal to those seeking off-the-beaten-path experiences and are expected to see a surge in travel interest.
Gudauri, nestled in the Caucasus Mountains, promises thrilling slopes for winter sports enthusiasts. Tromsø, renowned for its spectacular Northern Lights, offers a chance for wildlife tours, ice fishing, and reindeer sledging. Gabala, meanwhile, combines ancient ruins with winter leisure activities, while Tbilisi presents a fusion of history and modernity with its charming cobblestone streets and vibrant architecture.
Santosh Kumar, Country Manager for India, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Indonesia at Booking.com, commented, “In 2025, travel goes beyond ticking destinations off a list. It’s about transformative experiences that ignite personal growth. Whether it’s an adrenaline rush in Gudauri or a rejuvenating retreat in Ahangama, there’s a growing desire for journeys that leave a lasting impact.”
