Collinson International, a global leader in airport experiences, loyalty, and customer engagement solutions, has announced a partnership with Asego Global Assistance & Travel Insurance, one of India’s top providers of travel protection services. This collaboration will enable users of Asego’s WaitMate service to access over 1,600 premium airport lounges and other travel experiences worldwide in the event of a flight delay, powered by Collinson International’s SmartDelay™ solution.
Flight delay statistics reveal that, as of June 2024, nearly 1 in 5 flights in the Asia Pacific region were delayed by at least 15 minutes, impacting 33 million travellers. Additionally, a survey by Priority Pass found that 60% of Indian travellers experience “Fear of Switching Off” (FOSO) due to pre-flight issues, which can extend to their entire trip. This partnership aims to mitigate such stress by providing an immediate, relaxing environment for affected passengers.
With the integration of SmartDelay, Asego WaitMate users will be notified instantly of their flight delays and provided with a digital voucher to access lounges and experiences in real time.
